7 days mystical tour of Israel



Day 1: Jerusalem

The place to start, of course, is Jerusalem. Moreover, the place to start in Jerusalem is the temple mount. On the temple mount stood the Jewish temple for a thousand years, the most important and impressive building in the entire ancient world. We will visit the impressive archeological excavations of the southern and western walls of the temple mount, and see models and presentations of the temple in ancient times. From there we will go to the city of David and shiloan spring and pool, to get a sense of how the city looked in ancient times.

After lunch in one of the restaurants of the old city, we will enter the territory of Christianity: starting from the Mount of Olives, we will visit some of the churches on the mount, have a beautiful panoramic view of the city, and start walking down the Mount of Olives in the footpaths of Jesus when he entered Jerusalem. In the valley of Kidron we will visit the tomb of Virgin Mary, All Nations church, and have a break for tea and meditation. In the afternoon, we will walk the Via Dolorosa, to finish in the evening at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the holiest place for Christians around the world.

Day 2: Jerusalem

In the morning, we will go up the temple mount to the Dome of the Rock, the holiest place for the Muslims in Jerusalem. We will tell the story of the night journey of Muhammad and Islamic mysticism. Going out of the complex, we will see a few other Islamic sites on our way, and visit sufi centers of ancient times.

After lunch, we will continue strolling through the gentle streets of the Christian and Armenian quarters to see places such as the enigmatic Syrian church, Armenian complex, Franciscan complex and more…in the afternoon we will reach Mount Zion. After a tea break, we will visit the last supper room, Dormition abbey, David's tomb, and finish with another spectacular view of Jerusalem from Petro's Galicantos.

In the evening, after dinner, we will have a night stroll on the walls of the old city.

Day 3: Jerusalem

Another day of completing the tour of Jerusalem, we will visit many churches: English, German, Russian, visit some of the most beautiful synagogues. In the afternoon, we will go to Yad Vashem - a memorial for the holocaust, and finish with a visit to Ein Karem, the birthplace of john the Baptist.

 Day 4: Jerusalem

The day is dedicated to the Judean desert and the Dead Sea – the lowest place on earth; we will start by seeing places of hermits, to hearing about the special desert monasticism that developed there. From there we will go to Qumran were the Essences lived and tried to create a pure society, passing through the desert oasis of Ein Gedi we will drive to Masada, a place of power, where the last battle between the Jewish freedom fighters and the Romans was fought.

In the evening, we will drive through the Jordan valley and Israel valley to acre, where we will spend the night.                                        

Day 5:  Galilee

This is a day of following the footsteps of Jesus. We will go to Nazareth, Mt Tabor, Kfar Nahum, Mount of Beatitudes and lakeside churches.  At the evening, we will go back to Acre, and possibly have a night visit to the old city.

Day 6:  Galilee

We will start by going to Tzefat, the center of Jewish mysticism and kabala. From there we will drive through the upper Galilee to the Druze village of Hurfesh, to see a sacred Druze site and to hear a bit about the secret Druze belief. After a traditional Druze lunch, we will drive back to acre. In the evening, we will meet with the Shadeli Sufi order in acre.

Overnight in acre

Day 7:  Galilee and Haifa

We will start the day by completing our tour of acre, we will visit the most sacred place in the world for the Baha'i, where we will see the beautiful gardens and hear a bit about the new Baha'i religion and their suggested solutions to world problems. We will visit the crusader halls, castle in Acre, and hear about the crusaders. We will drive to Mount Carmel and Haifa, the third largest city in Israel, we will visit the hanging Baha'i gardens in Haifa, the cave of prophet Elijah and other sites on the mountain that belong to the Carmelite monastic order. In the evening, we will drive to Tel Aviv. Where we will finish our tour
